The thing that needs to be seen in the book of Isaiah is that great care needs to be taken as to just when these prophecies speak of. Notice it says "in that day." He is speaking of a certain time. We cannot say that this is our time of the so called church age which is not specifically spoken about in the Old Testament. So it must be prophetically beyond us.
The branch of the Lord of course is the Lord Jesus which we could call a shoot coming off the cut down stump of David. Christ is glorious and His fruit excellent and comely because they will be redeemed of Israel when Christ comes in His splendor at His second advent.
The remaining Israelites will then be called Holy, for He will have washed away the filth of the nation. Some of the signs of God's presence of that day will be the same as the road through the wilderness the cloud by day and fire by night.
Even though we as the Gentile church cannot find our place in these verses we can rejoice in the future glory of Israel. The Bible does say that we will reign with Christ if we put our trust in the finished work of Christ now.
