Ephesians 5:8-14

Did you notice the phrase, "You were once darkness." It doesn't say in darkness but you were darkness. This was me before I came to Christ. Now it says you are light in the Lord. Now we are to walk as children of light. We are to be characterized by goodness, righteousness and truth. These are God's characteristics and they should be ours, too. We need to know what is acceptable to the Lord. We are to have no fellowship with the evil works of darkness because we are now light. Light and darkness don't mix. We can't run with evil people, but expose them. It is shameful to even lightly speak of those things done in secret. We are coming to a day when evil is not only done in secret, but now out in the open where all can see. God now says to the true believer, "Awake you who are sleeping." Arise from a deadened condition and Christ will give you light. This world is characterized by darkness. The true believer is needed more than ever before. Where do you stand as to darkness and light?
