Joshua 2:1-11

We are here introduced to Rahab called a prostitute in our modern language. Somehow Rahab's actions turned into faith. She is mentioned in Hebrews 11 the great faith people of the Old Testament. We call Hebrews 11 the faith hall of fame. Her motivation at first might have been fear which later turned into faith, but somehow she must have felt that Israel's God was real and to be feared and respected. Rahab's faith not only saved her life, but a man named Salmon married her and she was named as one of the ancestors of the Lord Jesus Christ. We may conclude from this that faith pays off but not always in this present evil world. God never forgets what we may do for the people of God although the reward is not immediate or even in this world. Are you motivated by stories in the Bible? Stories of bad acts of people may help us to avoid some same pitfalls. Stories of good acts may motivate us in some great act for God.
