2 Timothy 3:8-12
In the first seven verses of this chapter, Paul describes what will happen among mankind in what is called "the last days". In my thinking we have been there for a long time. You can read all the characteristics and see for yourself. To emphasize Paul describes the Egyptian magicians during the time of Moses. Eventually as they were proven powerless so the people of our modern time will be too. Now we come to a comparative statement about Paul's own life in verses 10 & 11. He speaks about his own persecutions of which he says all who will live godly will eventually go through something for Christ. I believe some of it may be starting to happen. I now want to pass on to the best part of this chapter. Paul says, "As you have learned from me you must continue to live that way." That from very childhood from both mother and grandmother, Timothy had learned the holy scriptures(Old Testament) that could make him wise unto salvation. The last two verses say that in learning the scriptures which were inspired by God, we can be a man of God thoroughly equipped for every good work. I want to be that person! Do you?
