Psalm 104: 14-23

The verses in question here are the providence's of God in nature as in the first 13 verses everything is in place. The grass for cattle as well as the vegetation is for the service of man. Wind is mentioned to cheer the heart of man. I don't think we need to say that this wind is the kind with the power to intoxicate a man. There is a typical thing about this that the joy given by Jesus is the new wine the service of a new kind of joy brought on or made possible by the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ and the new birth brought on by now receiving Him as Savior. The rest of the verses seem to put all creation and providence in its place. The birds have their resting place in the great cedars of Lebanon. There are the high hills for the goats and even the cliffs where the holes are for the timid little conies or rock badgers. The sun and moon are in place and are for man to go to his work until finally evening comes and he goes home to rest. Now for all of this have you thanked God that all this was provided for you? Or have you just taken for granted that all of this is yours because you deserve it.
