I Thessalonians 4:9-12

These verses teach us that the way of God is to love one another. This is the true Christian way. This seemed to be the practice of the Christians in Thessalonica but in this there is always room for improvement. So they were to increase more and more. They were to lead a quiet life, and mind their own business and work with their own hands. It seems that according to Chapter 3:11 of Paul's second letter to the Thessalonians, there were some that were not working perhaps even pretending to work for the Lord but just getting in trouble as busybodies in the affairs of others. This not only affected people in the church but those who were not Christians as well. We cannot win people to Christ by having a bad example to people who are not saved. To show a good example of a Christ filled life is very good for those who are not yet saved.

An honest day's work:
1. pleases the Lord
2. provides for needs
3. places a good testimony

Work. worship and witness go hand in hand!
