We must always remember that what John got here was a vision, but the vision represents something as great or worse. In the days when this was given, they got the juice of the grapes by putting them in a large vat and then people would stomp on the grapes with their bare feet. That is why in chapter 19 Jesus has blood on His garments.
The sickle represents a cutting down and reaping. This is the judgment at the end of the seven years. The Kingdom reaping is mentioned in chapter seven. There are always two harvests mentioned in the Bible. There is the kingdom harvest and the destruction in the lake of fire which never ends. A lot of blood is mentioned in the last verse.
Every soul of man that we get to accept Christ now will not be in that great harvest of souls for the lake of fire. Jesus said in John 4:35, "Lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are white for harvest." Now is the time for God to use us in the saving of souls. Get busy! If you are not saved it is time to come to Him, and accept Him as your Savior.
