The book of Proverbs is the wisdom book of the Bible. WhenGod asked Solomon what he wanted most he asked for wisdom to rule the people of God which then, small as it was in area was the greatest nation on earth.
Next we are told about righteous lips. They not only delight kings, but all people. No one likes a liar, or deceiver or someone who is vile in speech.
Then the getting of wisdom seems to be more valuable than the getting of wealth. How we handle ourselves is very valuable in the sight of God and man.
A proud man can soon be destroyed. A lot of proud men have seen folly, and sometimes long before the end of their lives.
The Bible says that one who trusts in the Lord is a happy man. There seems to be a peaceful existence for a man like this.
I find the word understanding an interesting word. In Jeremiah 9:24 we find we can glory that we understand and know God. Our understanding of God goes a long way in understanding people too. How well do you understand and know God?
