Balm of Gilead refers to a medicine made from an evergreen tree. Jeremiah asks a rhetorical question, "Is there no balm in Gilead?". Spiritually speaking, the people were sick yet they refused what would bring about their healing. Yes, the medicine is available but not being applied. Our spiritual balm of Gilead is the Lord Jesus Christ!
1. The availability of the medicine - Christ is available to all
2. The aim of the medicine - victory over sin
3. The application of the medicine - faithful teaching, hearing and obeying of Christ!
To be a healthy Christian I must faithfully "take my medicine". Find and follow God's prescription every day!
Walk with the Lord and take your medicine!!!
