Titus 1:10-16

Possibly the chief theme of these verses is what is real and what is a false empty profession. Paul had this problem with the people on the island of Crete. Reality in my inner most being makes me want to do what God wants. They needed not pay attention to Jewish fables and commandments of men who turn from the truth. To the pure all things are pure. However in this world there is more that is not right than what is right. How can we be guided? It is easy to say we know God and not have the proper idea of how to please Him or serve Him. Their works deny that they really know Him at all. We must ask ourselves where we are in all this. We must always search out what pleases Him and leave the rest alone.
