James shares the second characteristic of a growing, maturing faith. A mature believer practices the truth. My practical treatment of others should be according to:
1. The Love of God
2. The Grace of God
3. The Word of God
How I treat others shows what I believe about God! (1 John 4:20) If I truly believe that God is a God of agape love, then I will not show respect of persons. If I believe God is a God of grace, then I will believe that none are more deserving than others. If I believe that God is a God of His Word, then I will love my neighbor as myself.
Walk with the Lord and grow up in truth!!!
