Luke 19:11-27

This parable was spoken because the people expected Jesus to become king on this very approach to Jerusalem. Jesus said, "Not so fast." There were a lot of things that had to happen before this time. Jesus then gives the parable of ten servants and ten pounds. He is going to go away and a future time of reckoning would come and rewards would be given out according to what servants did in the interim time. It has been nearly 2000 years since Jesus has gone away. I feel there are two classes of people. Those who say, "We will not have this man to rule over us." Then there are true servants who have been given pounds to use for Him. The time of reckoning will come. We don't know how long it will be. You will notice two classes of servants. There were those who gained something for the Master. They were rewarded. Then that were those who gained nothing. Even what they had was given to those who had gained. I believe all Christians fall into one of these two categories. Even if we are saved by grace alone at the judgement seat of Christ we will either gain or lose. Then there is that last judgement for those who want nothing to do with Christ at all. You do not want to be in that group. Come to Christ before it is too late.
