This passage focuses on three different men.
1. Saul - a zealous persecutor
2. Phillip - a faithful proclaimer
3. Simon - a wicked pretender
After the death of Stephen, great persecution against the church broke out headed up by Saul. There were also some who pretended to believe for their own self gain like Simon. But Phillip, along with many other believers faithfully, boldly and compassionately shared the Gospel in spite of these hindrances.
I must be a faithful to share the Gospel with others. Even though it may cost me or bring about persecution I must be bold as a witness. I must also not be discouraged or distracted by "pretenders". Share the Gospel and leave the results with God.
Walk with the Lord and preach the Gospel!!!
