John 8:37-47

Jesus said to the people of that day who were in a plot to kill Him, "You do this because my word has no place in you." Now I must ask myself , "What place does the words of Jesus or for that matter the word of God have in my life or yours?" They claimed Abraham as their ancestor. This was called a goodly heritage by David the writer of the Psalms. In verse 47 Jesus called these highly religious men children of the devil. In I John 3:10, John says that there are only two families in this world. The children of God by faith in Christ and the children of the devil. No middle ground is stated. The last three verses have something special in each. The first is truth. Jesus said He told the truth. In John 14:6 He said He was the truth. Pilate asked Jesus as we read in John 18:38, "What is truth?" He didn't wait around to find out. People don't always care to find out the truth. Do you? The next is Jesus was perfectly sinless no one could truly convict Him of sin. The Divinci Code letters plus a lot more men have tried that and failed. The third is important to all us us but not cared for by the world. It is "He who is of God hears God's words." This statement puts us all on the spot. This should split mankind right down the middle.
