In this passage Jesus deals with physical blindness and spiritual blindness.
1. Problem of blindness - This man's blindness was not a result of any direct choice of sin by the man or his parents but indirectly by the sin of Adam. He was born in physical blindness from birth just like all of us are born in spiritual blindness from birth as a result of Adam's sin.
2. Purpose in blindness - This blindness was an opportunity for God to demonstrate His glory.
3. Power over blindness - Jesus Christ (the Light of the world) has power over blindness. He, alone, can bring sight to the physically and spiritually blind.
The Jewish leaders were spiritually blind to the truth concerning the physically blind man. Spiritual sight and salvation come through believing on Jesus and receiving Him as Savior!
Walk with the Lord and walk in the light!!!
