Paul thanked the Church at Philippi for their wonderful gift! To Paul it was:
1. A Testimony v.14-16 - Their gift was an undertaking that glorified God, encouraged Paul and set an example for others. Our giving is the means by which God provides materially and spiritually for others.
2. An Investment v.17 - The Church entered into an arrangement of "giving and receiving"; the Church gave materially to Paul, and received materially and spiritually from the Lord. The Lord keeps the books and will never fail to pay one spiritual dividend. The person or church is poor that fails to "invest" materially in others.
3. A Sacrifice v.18 - Paul looked on their gift as a spiritual sacrifice, laid on the altar to the glory of God. This sacrifice was pleasing to God and and God responded with a promise. You met my servant's need and God is going to meet your need. You met one need, but God will meet all of your needs. You gave out of your poverty, but God will supply out of His riches in glory! When the child of God is in the will of God, serving for the glory of God then he will have every need met!
Walk with the Lord in the promise of His provision!!!
