Peace with God! - Romans 5:1-11

Peace comes with the assurance that everything that has been wrong, is wrong or could be wrong is taken care of and therefore is no longer a concern. Certain insurance companies promise us peace of mind because they give us this assurance concerning our family, health or property. Peace with God comes from the assurance of forgiveness of sin.

Romans 5:1 tells us that through the righteousness of Christ we have:

1. Full forgiveness - "being justified"- we have been declared righteous before God. The books are completely balanced - all of our sin debt is canceled. The forgiveness of Christ covers all sin.
2. Free forgiveness - "by faith" - We cannot deserve or earn forgiveness. Forgiveness is a gift of God received by faith. We are forgiven "by grace, through faith" not of ourselves it is a gift of God "lest any man should boast"!
3. Final forgiveness - "through Jesus Christ our Lord" - Christ made one payment, "forever" for our forgiveness. On the cross He cried "It is finished". The resurrection was God's stamp of approval that He was satisfied with this finished payment! Our forgiveness does not come in installments and never needs to be renewed - it is final!

Walk with the Lord in peace!!!
