The theme of the book of Romans is the righteousness of God. The first three chapters deal with the need for God's righteousness. Titus 2:11 states "The grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men...". This grace means that God has given to every man a knowledge of God and an understanding of right and wrong. Grace is the desire and power to do God's will. (Philippians 2:13) We are saved by grace.(Ephesians 2:8,9) Romans 1:19,20 teaches us that grace is given through creation. Romans 2:15 teaches that grace is given through conscience. When people humble themselves and accept this grace they are given more grace.(James 4:6)
1. Grace is universal - "all men"
2. Grace is continual - Psalm 19:1-3
3. Grace is provisional - "bringeth salvation"
Because of this amazing grace God states twice that man is without excuse!(Romans 1:20,2:1)
1. Praise God for His amazing grace!
2. Present the gospel of grace to someone today!
Walk with the Lord and rejoice in His grace!!!
