The sacrifice that God required of the people of Israel had to be perfect! It had to be without spot, blemish, or any physical ailments. If it was not perfect, it would not meet up to God's standard. Only perfection could be used as a substitute for the imperfect man.
Praise God! Jesus Christ was/is a perfect substitute for us! He lived a perfect and sinless life so that He could become our perfect substitute and propitiation of God's wrath for our sin.
I must remember to aim for Christ-likeness. Making Him my goal, living my life for His glory. I must give Him my best and put Him first in my life.
Give God your very best and praise Him for His perfect substitution!
