Israel was instructed to establish cities of refuge for those who accidentally, ignorantly or in self defense killed someone. The city would be a place of protection until the case could be judged and the defendant could produce evidence for aquittal.
Jesus Christ is my city of refuge(Hebrews 6:18). I am a condemned sinner worthy of death but I am protected in Christ until one day through Christ I am declared innocent before the Judge of heaven.
How firm a foundation ye saints of the Lord
Is laid for your faith in His excellent Word
What more can He say than to you He has said
To you who for refuge to Jesus have fled
Walk with the Lord secure in the refuge of the Lord Jesus Christ!!!
