True Repentance! - Numbers 14:34-45

The people were confronted with the consequences of their sin. They had regret and resolve but no true repentance.

1. Regret - The people were given a harsh penalty. They were to stay in the wilderness for forty years, one year for each day of the spies' trip. All who were 20 years old and up would die with the exception of Joshua and Caleb.
2. Remorse - The people mourned over missing out on the promised land and tried to go anyway in their own strength but it was too late.
3. Repentance - The right response would have been to grieve at their offence of a holy God and their self will and rebellion. Instead their sorrow was over their loss and not God's.

I must practice true repentance. Confess not only my "sins"(acts of sin toward God and others) but my "sin"(iniquity - putting myself in the place of God, reserving the right to make final decisions in my life)!

Walk with the Lord and practice true repentance!!!
