I Samuel 1:19-2:11
Hannah prayed earnestly for a son. Our verses today speak of her answered prayer. Her answer was the birth of Samuel. Her promise to God is to lend the child, Samuel, to God as long as he would live. This she carried out in the rest of chapter 1. I would pause here to ask what your prayer life is like? Do you pray for results and what do you do when results or answers come? When Samuel came she carried out her promise to the Lord. What do we do with answered prayer? Do we renege on our promise once the prayer is answered? The first 10 verses of chapter 2 is really a praise song to God. How much do you exalt God from whom all blessings flow? Samuel goes on to be a great prophet and a judge in Israel. When we pray and answers come does it have an impact to God's people? We should stop to think how it will affect many if our prayers are answered.
