I Peter 3:13-22

One of the finest verses in this section is verse 15. Here it says we are to sanctify the Lord in our hearts. This means Christ is to have a special place in our heart above everything else. Then when someone asks us why we have this hope within we are to be ready to give a good answer. We are to do it with meekness not arrogance.
We may be called upon to suffer for Christ some day. There is a vast amount of difference in suffering for Christ rather than suffering for something we did wrong. There is no virtue in being punished for wrong we have done.
Christ suffered for our sins. He was the just one suffering on the cross for me, the unjust. The reason is that He might bring us to God. If this is true why would I still want to go my own way?
I believe it was the Spirit of Christ that was in Noah preaching that judgment was coming with the flood. By the same token, by the Spirit of God we are to preach that the judgment of God is coming once more, not with a flood this time, but something much worse than that. Our place of safety this time is Christ suffering on the Cross.
