Luke 2:25-38

In these verses we have the stories about a man named Simeon and a woman named Anna. Both of them were led along in what they did by the Holy Spirit of God. In the story of Simeon he was led into the temple at the time Joseph and Mary brought Jesus into the temple to be dedicated to God . When Simeon saw Him it was revealed to him that now he could die because he had seen God's salvation in the baby Jesus in his arms. He had some more things to say prophetically too. In fact, what he said seems to make a difference either to fall or rise because of our acceptance or rejection of Him. He then went on to say what sorrow would come to Mary herself which was literally fulfilled at the cross. Then Anna a widow who was eighty four years old, constantly prayed and fasted in the temple, and saw the baby Jesus and spoke of Him to all who looked for salvation in Jerusalem. These people were both faithful in fulfilling their given task. Have we seen Jesus for who He is , the Savior of the world? Now are we faithful in proclaiming Him as our Savior and the Savior of the world?
