In chapter ten, Hosea describes the emptiness of an idolatrous life!
1. Emptiness of an immoral life. chap. 1-4
2. Emptiness of an impudent life. chap. 5-9
3. Emptiness of an idolatrous life. chap. 10
a. reality - most of us have idols
b. ruin - idols bring folly, frustration and fear
c. remedy - idols are removed when we
1. submit - break up stubborn, rebellious places in our life
2. sow - practice obedience to God's Word
3. seek - delight in God and His ways
I must take time to identify "idols" in my life. (basketball, reputation, pleasure)
I must remove them by putting them in their proper place and returning God to His proper place in my life!
Walk with the Lord and flee idolatry!!!
