This passage describes the first trial of Jesus before the religious leaders.
1. Far Follower - Peter, who said that he would always stand up for Jesus, instead followed from a distance.
2. False Accusers - The witnesses at the trial lied about what Jesus had said and could not even tell the same story.
3. Fist Strikers - The religious leaders were so eager to condemn Jesus, in order to keep their power and status, that they prematurely began to beat Him and torture Him with their fists.
Jesus stood alone for truth and compassion and the will of God even though all were against Him.
If Jesus was willing to stand alone for me, I must be willing to stand alone for Him! Be bold to verbally identify with Jesus Christ and stand alone if necessary for Him!!!
Walk with the Lord and stand alone!!!
