Acts 4:1-12
I just want to call attention to a few thing in these verses. The first is Peter's boldness to proclaim the gospel of Christ in the face of danger and possible imprisonment. The result was that many believed in Christ. The next thing I noticed is that it is mentioned that he was filled with the Holy Spirit, and he could boldly answer these Jewish leaders by what name and power he did these things. He accuses them of putting Him to death, but He has risen from the dead and has become the Prince of Life. He calls Jesus the Stone rejected by them the so called builders that has become the chief cornerstone of the church who are now the people of God. Quite an accusation for someone who in fear denied that he knew Jesus before the cross. The truth about the Stone goes way back to Psalm 118 verse 22 almost 1000 years before the cross and resurrection. It was repeated by Jesus, Peter and Paul in the New Testament. Verse 12 in this chapter tells us that we cannot be saved in any other way except through Him and the cross.
