This passage continues the second missionary journey and brings Paul to the city of Athens. We see several characteristics in the life and ministry of Paul.
1. Passion - Paul's spirit was stirred within him as he saw people devoted to lifeless, worthless idols.
2. Purpose - Paul's response was a beeline to the cross and the preaching of the Gospel.
3. Position - Paul was looked on as strange and stupid to the world philosophers.
As I live in this world, I need to see the blindness, hopelessness and helplessness of the lost and be moved with compassion to share the Gospel. Realizing that the Gospel message will never be acceptable, or compatible to the world's philosophy continue to faithfully share it.
Walk with the Lord and be faithful to the Gospel!!!
