Amos 4:1-13

The prophet Amos was a man who came from a humble background. He was just a shepherd and a picker of the sycamore figs. Could this speak to you and I that God could call us and use us even where we are.
In Amos day and in our verses today the Israelites were very sensual people going there own way. He speaks of drinking and other things. Our verses today speak mostly of judgement and deportation. There are places mentioned like Bethel which means, "House of God", but really it was where there was a golden calf an object of worship. They were compared to Sodom who was previously judged and destroyed. Doesn't that remind you of the USA. We need to turn to God. Where am I? Where are you?
