Revelation 21:1-8
Revelation 20 ends up with the judgment of the Great White Throne which is the judgment of all unsaved people since the beginning of time. Now we come into what is called by many believers, "The eternal state of things." The first which we now occupy will have been passed away. The Bible says there is a new Heaven and a new Earth. We may ask, "Can this really happen?" I will quote something from Luke 1:37. "With God nothing will be impossible." Next, we are introduced to the principal city on the New Earth, New Jerusalem the eternal city of the redeemed. Notice she (the city) is adorned for her husband which is Christ. Then we read that God will dwell with men and they will be His people and He will be their God. I want to call attention to the fact there are no more tears, meaning no sorrow and no death. It is an eternal state of blessing. Next, we are introduced to the One who is the Alpha and Omega. That is Christ who is the first and the last. He gives of the water of life freely. This is what He offered to the woman at the well in John 4 and to the Jews in John 7:37-38. It was difficult to be concise with there verses, but I ask whether you have come to Christ and gotten this living water? Otherwise your part will be the Lake of Fire mentioned in the previous chapter. He died so that you might live forever in this great eternal place.
