In this passage, different groups come to Jesus trying to trap Him with hard questions. Jesus answered the questions and shared practical truth.
1.) A Political question about taxes.
- Christians must honor and obey rulers.(Romans 13, 1 Peter 2:13-17, 1Timothy 2:1-5)
- Christians must honor and obey God.(Christians have dual citizenship - Philippians 3:20)
- Man bears God's image and owes God his all.(Genesis 1:26,27 - Sin has marred that image but through Christ it can be restored -Ephesians 4:24)
2.) A Doctrinal question about the resurrection
- There is resurrection(life after death for believers) - God is the God of Abraham(for that to be present tense Abraham must still be living)
- There will be no marriage in heaven because there will be no death(Revelation 21:4)
- God's Word is the final authority on the future.(2 Peter 1:20,21, 2 Timothy 3:16)
From Jesus, we learn that our greatest allegiance should be to God and that our greatest authority should be God's Word.
Walk with the Lord and pledge your allegiance to Him!!!

Here goes, I am a first time bloger. Immediately fear of man jumps on your back. Are there rules to polkictically correct bloging? Of courrse there is no emphasis on ppolitics currently -- Ha. so here goes my blog.
After reading Matt 22:15-33 one immediately can recognize this passage as instruction for our attitude toward regulartory public bodies. This whole subject today seems to be one of apathy until, it impacts us personally. As property, income and other taxing obligations. The elder populous has the impact of healthcare on their fixed income.
My bog is being structured around a question format. The morning messages are a serious of lessons in how to find ourselves in God's will. This passage suggests the division of our will to two entirely different ethical beliefs. That is hard to understand and I can find contentment with where Iam and give God thanks for the provision necessay to pay the repective obligations.
My question is this! Surely God does not expect us to rollover and play dead on the many issues that impact the cailyh lives of the American Citizen. Voting is one function provided by God's Governmental forms. Our opinions and decisions regarding current and future issues may be expressed thru this channel. I am asking for more Bibical direction for taking issue with both favorable and unfavorable matters raised by the Goverment, impacting us directly and indirectly. Desiring this action to honor both God and His Government.
