He's alive! - Jesus Christ has risen from the dead! This is the most important news ever! The world wants to cover it up or pretend it never happened, but God wants us to proclaim this news to everyone in the world!
1.) Appointment - In Matthew 26:22, Jesus Christ predicted that He would rise from the dead and afterward He would meet His disciples on a mountain in Galilee. Matthew 28:16,17 tells us that Jesus did exactly what He said that He would do. The disciples knew firsthand that the message they would share was real. The fact that Jesus Christ rose from the dead and shewed Himself alive with "many infallible proofs"(Acts 1:3) gives us a powerful message of truth that we must share with the world.
2.) Announcement - Jesus declared, "all power(authority) has been given to me in heaven and in earth". On this basis we are to tell others about Jesus and challenge them to believe on Him and to follow Him. Our message and our ministry are backed up by the authority of Christ, himself.
3.) Assignment - Jesus gave us the plan. 1. Appropriate the power - "Go ye therefore". Under Christ's authority, as we go about our lives, this is really our main "occupation" on this earth. 2. Activate the plan - "teach all nations". We are to use all resources to share with all people groups and call them to a decision of faith to be a disciple of Jesus. Secondly, we are to help them be baptized(publicly identify with Jesus) Third, we are to "teach" them how to walk with Jesus and tell others about Him. 3. Appreciate the promise - "I am with you always". Although the world will oppose us, and sharing the Gospel with the world will involve hardship and sacrifice, we are not alone! Jesus promises to be with us and to do the work through us as we trust Him.
The commission Christ left to His disciples is our directive today. God has made every provision for us to do His will. Are we being faithful in making disciples? Who do you know that needs to hear the plan of salvation? Who, in your sphere of influence can you help to follow the Lord in believers' baptism? Who needs your help to learn how walk with Jesus? Look for opportunities today to make disciples!
Walk with the Lord and make disciples!!!

Within my sphere of influence I find a forgotten, hurting people...There are days, because of an aging body or therapy, pain consumes them...There are many long lonely days that pass without the visit of a family member or friend...They think no one sees their tears.
I am so thankful for verse 20. A Truth that I know can help, for it has helped me
During difficult hours, we can know His Strength. We can hear His Voice in the Scriptures "I am with you always." He knows and cares what is happening in our life. He knows the pain and hurt we feel.
I can share the reality of the Scriptures...He is with you right now, beside you in this very place.
It is comfort I need. And it can give comfort to those God brings into my life.
