Much of this Psalm reminds us to praise God for all He has done for us. We must always be thankful for all the blessings in our life. Verse 18 however is a action that we must accomplish in the present and future. What is our reason to live? To show forth Christ! Verse 18 says, "...until I have shewed thy strength unto this generation, and thy power to every one that is to come." This psalmist understood that his job in life was to glorify God and to show Him to the people.
How can we show forth Christ? What are our forms of witness?
1. Righteous living/Testimony
2. Teaching/Soul-Winning
You MUST have righteous living and your testimony in good order if you are ever going to be effective in teaching and soul-winning.
Many say that we can be a witness by our actions. This is not entirely true. Actions alone only tell people that you have your act together. They will not know the reason for your righteous living and good character unless you tell them!
We must show forth Christ by living righteously and then telling others the good news of the Gospel!!!
