In the book of Hebrews, so far, we have been learning that Jesus is superior to the angels and now to Moses. Not that these persons are poor in nature or that they are not great, obedient servants, but...JESUS IS GREATER!
Today, Psalm 95 is quoted to remind us of the Israelites' hard hearts during their time in the wilderness that kept them from seeing the things promised of God. They only saw the temporal things or things that were most important to them at the time.
We are reminded not to make the same mistake, but instead to learn from their mistake... so that we can give Jesus the reverence and obedience He deserves. If we allow our hearts to be hardened, we will not be able to see as He sees and therefore will miss out on successful Christian living (Which is the picture portrayed by the Promised Land...)
What is "Successful Christian Living"? Well, in order to find out, you have to soften your heart, be in His Word, and be ready and willing to have your mind transformed.
