Even John the Baptist struggled at times with doubt. Jesus helped John with his doubt and shows us how to deal with doubt.
1. Revelation of Doubt - John wondered if Jesus truly was the Messiah
2. Reasons for Doubt -
a. Intellectual doubt - can't make sense of seemingly contradictory information
b. Emotional doubt - feelings of worry and fear over once accepted information
c. Willful doubt - purposefully challenging truth with scepticism
3. Response to Doubt -
a. Intellectual doubt - do research and give facts
b. Emotional doubt - use Scripture to reaffirm faith
c. Willful doubt - show victory and hope in Christ for sin
John experienced emotional doubt and Jesus did not rebuke him but showed the fulfillment of the Scripture that strengthened his faith!
Walk with the Lord and overcome doubt!!!
