In this passage Jesus shows us how to resist the temptation of the devil.
1. Preparation for temptation - Time spent in fasting and prayer so that I am sensitive to the leading of (filled with) the Holy Spirit.
2. Pattern of temptation - Satan appeals to the sinful desires of my old nature: the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, the pride of life. Recognize His deceptions and false short cuts to fulfillment.
3. Power against temptation - Resist satan with the Word of God. Saturate my mind and life with God's truth especially in areas I know that I may be tempted.
Walk with the Lord and resist temptation!!!
