Lord of the Sabbath - Luke 6:1-12

When the Pharisees accused Jesus of breaking the law, they made a couple mistakes:
1.  They believed Jesus was breaking the law when in reality, He was only breaking their self-righteous interpretation (extension) of the law.
2.  They failed to understand the spirit of the law concerning the sabbath day.
3.  They failed to acknowledge that the righteousness of God is not always synonymous with the "righteousness" of man (specifically as defined by them).
4.  They failed to acknowledge the Lord of the Sabbath as their LORD.

We must be careful to not weigh our righteousness against the righteousness of others as the pharisees often did.  After all, any righteousness we see in anyone, including ourselves, is not our righteousness at all.  It is the righteousness of God given to us by His grace.  We have nothing in ourselves to be proud about.  But we do have a righteous God to proclaim.

Declare God's glory today by praising Him for His righteousness and allowing Him to use you to reveal Him to others!
