Faith Pleases God! - Matthew 15:21-39

The Bible tells us that faith pleases God! Hebrews 11:6 states "without faith it is impossible to please God". This passage shares the story of one women's faith. She was a Gentile and not a Jew. She had a sick daughter and she believed that Jesus could heal her daughter so she went and asked Jesus for help. There are several things that we can learn from her faith.

1.) Personal faith - She believed. She acted. She personally had faith in Jesus. Sometimes we try to rest in the faith of someone else - our parents or spouse or even our church. God desires a personal relationship with each of us by faith.

2.) Practical faith - God cares about everything we do in life. Faith is not just for church or school. Faith is for everything. Faith is believing and obeying God regardless of the circumstances of the consequences. We need faith to have the right thoughts, words, attitudes, actions and motives. Jesus cared about this sick girl and He cares about everything in our life too (1 Peter 5:7)

3.) Persistent faith - Even when Jesus did not help her right away, she kept on believing God! Sometimes we may have obstacles or have to wait a long time for God to act, but He will always honor faith and obedience (Galatians 6:9). Maybe you have been praying for a long time about something but still have no answer - KEEP ON PRAYING! Maybe you can't see how some situation is going to work out - KEEP ON BELIEVING AND OBEYING! Jesus said that this woman had great faith and healed her daughter!

Do you have great faith? Is your faith personal? Is your faith practical? Is your faith persistent?

Walk with the Lord and have GREAT FAITH!!!
