Continuing on in the Book of 1 Peter 4:12 - 19; he continues to cover the many facets of suffering. Living in the world in which we live it seems everyone has an opinion of "why do the we suffer". Having Christ as our perfect example when it comes to suffering makes life and sufferings understandable. Knowing that we have someone who has gone before us leaving us an example or icon that we should follow in his steps allows us to glorify Christ through our sufferings. Pete consistently reminds us to check our reasons for suffering. If we are suffering because of bad choices or idols which we replace Christ on the throne of our heart for then we do not bring glory to Christ but a blot and spot. I love how Peter connects himself with the sufferings of Christ saying that we are partakers of the sufferings of Christ. We are not in this alone and Christ has again, gone before us. Because Christ was the perfect example when it comes to suffering he earns another title, "Faithful Creator", to go along with "Shepherd" and "Bishop of our Souls". Christ has earned the right to be the "head" of all things. Praise God, What a Saviour!
