The children of Israel entered into a covenant with God to love and obey only Him. This covenant was ratified by the leaders eating a meal with God and by the sprinkling of blood. This covenant was not a covenant of salvation because they were already a redeemed people. This was a covenant of service. Israel was to be God's representative in the world and to the world. They forfeited this opportunity through idolatry and disobedience.
We have been given this same opportunity as the Church(1 Peter 1:2). We are called upon to show Christ to this world through holiness and obedience. Just as we each must personally receive Jesus Christ as our Saviour, we must also dedicate ourselves to submit to His Lordship and that is a witness to this world.
Have you dedicated yourself Christ to be the Lord of your life? Do you daily resubmit to His will and way? He has chosen you if you are saved to be His special witness to the world!
Walk with the Lord and let Him be Lord today!!!
