Water from the Rock! - Exodus 17:1-16

This passage describes God's provision of water for Israel from a rock in the wilderness.

1. Needed Provision - Water is necessary for life. Israel (over 1 million people) needed water to
continue to exist.
2. Miraculous Provision - Water is scarce in the desert and never comes out of a rock.
3. Protracted Provision - The rock had to be struck before it produced water.
4. Plentiful Provision - Enough water flowed from the rock to quench the thirst of over 1 million
people
5. Personal Provision - Although there was plenty of water every individual had to drink.
6. Pictorial Provision - The rock pictures the Lord Jesus Christ who miraculously provided for
our greatest need by being smitten on the cross. Eternal life has been
sufficiently supplied for all but each individual must come to place faith
in Jesus Christ. (1 Corinthians 10:4)

Walk with the Lord and drink deep from the Rock!!!
