Mark 5:1-10 - Spiritual Warfare

Jesus has just calmed the sea and now made it across to the other side, to the country of the Gedarenes, which was a mostly gentile populated area. As soon as the Son of God steps foot on the country, a demon-possessed man comes to worship Him and then entreat Him to not force Him out of the man. After Christ makes it clear that staying within the man was not an option, the Legion requests to remain in the country they are in.

This reminds us all of a very important fact. We are in the middle of a war! I am not talking about the middle east or even Russia. I am talking about a spiritual warfare that began when Lucifer rebelled against God and will end after the 1,000 year Millennial Reign. Satan and his demons are working hard to make sure that as many people go to hell as possible, and they also want to make born again believers as ineffective and worthless to God's purpose as possible.

If you are a Christian today, you must be on guard! Satan wants you to waste time, to get caught in sin, and to be too scared to share God's love with others. You must be prepared, prayed up, and free from the extra baggage of sin in your life so that you can be the best soldier for Christ possible.

Are you ready to go to battle?
