Ezra 9:6-15

In these verses Ezra is praying to God because of the intermingling of the people of God and an unholy people of the land. Back in the law of Moses this was forbidden because of the sin of the land of Caanan. This was a great stumbling block in the book of Numbers as the Israelites journeyed through the wilderness.

The lesson for us is how weak young Christians become when there is a marriage with a non Christian. This is a thing that weakens the Christian Community. Usually the Christian will go in the direction of the mate. However, sometimes there is victory and the other is saved. There needs to be much prayer about this.

First in the book of Ezra there was opposition from outside. Now there was weakness within. When the people of God are corrupted within they are weakened sometimes beyond repair.
