In this passage Ezra describes the journey from Babylon back to Jerusalem for the sake of revival. Ezra recognized several important things needed for a successful journey.
1. Dedication - Recognition of the holy nature of their task and responsibility. v.25,28
2. Deliverance - Recognition of a need for God's power and protection. v.31
3. Devotion - Recognition that the purpose for the journey was that God was to be worshiped, praised and given glory. v.35
As I travel through this life on my journey "home" to heaven, I have been given the sacred privilege and responsibility of knowing and sharing the Gospel. I must depend on God's power, protection and provision and look to the day of celebration, giving praise and glory in His presence.
