Glorifying God requires Action

In I Chronicles 16:23-29 the name used for God is "LORD". As finite beings it stretches us to be able to demonstrate to the world in which we live how truly all sufficient He truly is. The writer in this section gives us ways we can make known who this God is and what He has that can truly make our lives truly fulfilled. It is only when we glorify Him that we magnify His greatness and infiniteness. John Piper said, "God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in Him". Here are some of the actions and ways that the writer uses to equip us for the task that follows.

I Chronicles 16:23-29

Vs.23 Sing unto the Lord – all the earth

Vs.23 Shew forth from day to day His salvation

Vs. 24 Declare His glory among the heathen

Vs.24 Declare His marvelous works among all nations

Vs. 25 For great is the LORD and greatly to be praised
Vs. 25 He also is to be feared above all gods
Vs. 26 For all the gods of the people are idols
Vs. 27 But the LORD made the heavens

Vs. 27 Glory Honour are in His presence
Vs. 27 Strength and gladness are in His place
Vs. 28 Give unto the LORD ye his kindreds of the people
Vs. 28 Give unto the LORD glory and strength

Vs. 29 Give unto the LORD the glory due unto His name

Vs. 29 Bring an offering

Vs. 29 Come before Him

Worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness
