In I Chronicles 15 David has built him houses but realizes that "home cannot be home without the ark" which represented the presence of God. What a true parallel in our life. Without the presence of God in our life wherever we are we are incomplete. I find it interesting that at this point David recalls the "correct" way to transport the ark. You see, David at one point decided that despite God's instruction he would get the ark to where it needed to be the quickest and most convenient way. It cost lives. Another true parallel that can be applied to many areas of our lives. The quickest and most convenient are not always the answer. David also chose : Uriel which means "flame of God" with 120 men; Asaiah which means "Jehovah has made" with 220 men; Joel which means Jehovah (is his) God with 130 men; Shemiah which means "Jehovah has Heard" with 200 men; Eliel which means "God (of) his God with 80 men; Amminadab which means "people of liberality" with 112 men. In all total David chose chief men which names give importance to their life and even character if you will. "A good name is rather to be chosen than choice silver". The total number of chief men to carry out the task of carrying back the Ark was 762 men. God can accomplish his will with few or many. Willing hands and minds and spirits is the key. What is God asking you to do? Are you willing to do it with all your heart, mind, soul, spirit, and your might? It will bring true glory to God.?
