In this passage David gives a pattern for worship.
1. Consecration - "they offered burnt offerings and sacrifices" - The first step of worship is to have a clean heart and a clear conscience before the Lord. We should begin our personal or corporate worship with a time of confession and cleansing.
2. Celebration - "he blessed the people" - The result of consecration and forgiveness is always joy! John wrote in 1 John that through confession we walk in fellowship with God and experience "full" joy.
3. Compilation - "to record and to thank and praise the Lord God of Israel" - Joy is expressed in praise and thanksgiving to God for His greatness.
Worship always begins with consecration! Coming to God:
1. in purity
2. properly
3. purposefully
Walk with the Lord in worship!!!
